“15But now even more the report about him went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their infirmities. 16But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.” (Luke 5:15-16)

Father, our Lord was a Man full of compassion for the afflicted, but He knew when to withdraw from the crowds and seek solitude in prayer with You. Grant us to walk with the same spirit as Jesus, knowing when to retreat from the rigors of our daily lives to get alone in sweet fellowship with You. Our lives are full of busyness, yet no one could ever have been busier than the Lord Jesus was on earth. Nevertheless, He was disciplined to escape the busyness to lift up His petitions to You and enjoy intimacy with You. Forbid that we should neglect the precious gift of fellowship with You, our Maker, Sustainer and Redeemer.
