“36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”” (Matthew 9:36-38)

Father, forgive us for not giving heed to Your commandment to pray for more laborers in Your harvest field. The needs are so great, and godlessness abounds all around us. Countless people groups have never heard the name of Jesus. Millions of people do not have a single verse of the Bible translated into their native language. Raise up workers, Father, who would be willing to lay down all material goods for the sake of spreading Your fame. Help us to be obedient to do whatever You have called us to do, and to go anywhere You have called us to go. We long for the day when Your glory will fill the earth, as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14). Help us to long for that day all the more, and make us instruments in accomplishing that great work, all to the praise of Your glory.
