“19I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I too may be cheered by news of you. 20For I have no one like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare. 21They all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 2:19-21)

Awaken in us, Lord, a heart like Timothy’s.  Give us grace not to have regard first for our own interests, but to the interests of others.  If we would love you and seek the interests of Christ in the world, then we must be genuinely concerned for the welfare of Your people.  For the Church is the Bride of Christ, and we cannot truly love You while neglecting Your Bride.  May our love for Christ compel us to genuinely care for those who You have sovereignly placed around us.  May we show others the love of Christ and seek their highest good in Christ, even when it means sacrificing our own comforts and resources.
