Joe,

Sorry to not let my yes be yes, but all I’ve got time for today is a quick quote. I had said I would try to get up some thoughts on how to live in the light of the judgment, but that’s just not going to happen today. I was in meetings from 7 AM until 1 PM, and now I am off with Michelle to the doctor’s office for Michelle’s 20-week ultrasound. We hope to find out today whether it is a little boy or girl growing inside of her!

Anyway, all that has made it a bit tough to get much posting done here. But this is a quote from Martyn Lloyd-Jones that is very close to my heart:

“What is it that leads to worship and praise, to exultation, to adoration? The answer is that it is always the understanding. The only singing that is of any value in the sight of God is that which is based upon the understanding of the truth. That is why we must take this occasion to remind ourselves, therefore, that we must never go for the emotions directly. We must never go for the will directly. The emotions and the will are the result of something seen by the understanding.”

May we use our minds diligently in the pursuit of God, because the only worship of Him that is of any value is worship of Him that is rooted in the Truth.
