“19Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” (Hebrews 10:19-22)

Father, thank You for sending Your perfectly righteous Son, to bear our condemnation and to purchase our reconciliation.  Through His torn flesh and His shed blood, we are now able to enter into the richest of communion with You.  “Christ suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring us to God…” (1 Peter 3:18).  Help us then, not to belittle this all-sufficient sacrifice of our Savior.  Forbid that we should allow our sin or a guilty conscience keep us from Your fellowship.  You died to cleanse us from sin and a guilty conscience, sprinkling us clean in heart and in body.  By one sacrifice once and for all, Christ has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.  Remind us this day, Father, that we who trust in the atoning blood of Your Son have been perfected in Your sight for all time.  Grant us to come before You with the boldness and joy that comes from knowing that we are perfect in Christ.
